Introduction to Studio Lighting – Photography Training Workshop

Group Training for Beginners wanting to learn the basics of studio lighting

Option 1:
Three hour introduction – £39 per person. Perfect for beginners

A highly practical group session for up to 6 people covering everything you need to know about basic studio lighting.

Working with our model for the day, the session will include:

  • Introduction to different heads and reflectors;
  • Camera settings for studio work,
  • Use of light and how to set up different ‘looks’,
  • white balance,
  • backdrops.

 

Although this practical workshop has some theory supported by handouts, the emphasis is on practical work with a model who will help you develop and consolidate your understanding.
Practical work will be based around photographing our model and group activities to help you gain confidence in how different lighting affects the final image.

You’ll also receive Handouts from each session along with ongoing support, via email, for 28 days after your workshop.

Groups have a maximum of 6 people, ensuring that you have the fullest opportunity to make the most of your session. All sessions take place in my fully equipped studio in Garforth, Leeds.

What you’ll need:

  • DSLR or Bridge camera
  • Charged battery
  • An empty memory card (don’t forget to clear any images from it in advance)

Start time: 1pm

Option 2:
Six hour workshop – £59 per person

As Option 1 PLUS an introductory session on digital editing, pubication and filing

The session will cover:

  • Managing files
  • a demonstration of basic editing techniques
  • Saving images – formats for printing, email, etc.
  • Outputs to pdf and websites

 

  • The day lasts from 9:30am to 2.30pm with refreshments  included. Total price £59 per person

Start time: 9.30
