Group Training for Beginners using Digital SLR and Bridge Cameras
A Three Hour* introduction to all the main settings on your camera – Perfect for beginners
A Group session for up to 10 people covering everything you need to know to get great photos from your camera.
The session will cover:
- Basic camera settings;
- ISO,
- Shutter Priority,
- Aperture Priority,
- white balance,
- depth of field,
- use of flash and
- exposure compensation.
A highly practical workshop supported by handouts and activities; the emphasis is on practical work to help develop and consolidate your understanding.
Practical work will be based around group activities designed to help you gain confidence in how to choose the correct settings and how they affect the final image.
Venue: Clarence Dock area, Leeds.

You’ll also receive ongoing support on topics covered in the session, via email, for 28 days after your workshop.
Groups have a maximum of 10 people, ensuring that you have the fullest opportunity to make the most of your session.
What you’ll need:
- DSLR, Mirrorless or Bridge camera
- Charged battery
- An empty memory card (don’t forget to clear any images from it in advance)
- Please also bring your camera’s instruction manual – if available
You might also wish to bring a snack and drink with you. And, as there’s some walking involved, a pair of comfortable shoes, too.
Start time: 1.30pm
Finish time: 4.30pm
We will have two short breaks during the session for refreshments.
Please note: In the event numbers being below 6 in the group, or inclement weather, Mike Lester Photography reserve the right to cancel and rearrange the event with a minimum 24 hours notice.
Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Under 18’s must have written parental approval (details on request)

FAQ’s
Is my registration/ticket transferable?
Yes. Bookings made via Eventbrite may, in some cases, be transferred. Use the online option on your Evenbrite account for details. A transfer fee will be applied.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds will only be offered where the customer provides a minimum of 14 calendar days notice of cancellation prior to the event.
