The workshop is FREE to members of Leeds Photography Group.
There will be a small charge of £5 per person to cover model expenses.

A highly practical group session for up to 6 people covering everything you need to know to get started with studio lighting and Portrait Photography.

Working with our model, the session will include full demonstrations and activities covering:

• Introduction to different heads and reflectors;
• Camera settings for studio work,
• Use of light and how to set up different ‘looks’,
• white balance,
• backdrops.
• Use of manual camera settings

Through practical demonstrations and activities, this workshop demonstrates a range of lighting techniques, explains the theory in simple terms and provides clear guidance supported by handouts. The emphasis is on practical work with a model who will help you develop and consolidate your understanding and help you gain confidence in how different lighting affects the final image.

Groups have a maximum of 6 people, ensuring that you have the fullest opportunity to make the most of your session. All sessions take place in my fully equipped studio in Pudsey, Leeds.

What you’ll need:

• DSLR or Bridge camera with flash shoe
• Charged battery
• An empty memory card (don’t forget to clear any images from it in advance)
